60. Integrating MPLAB with PICC, PICC Lite or PICC-18

Choose "Install Language Tool" from the "Project menu."
For PICC, select "HI-TECH PICC"
For PICC Lite, select "HI-TECH PICC Lite"
For PICC-18, select "HI-TECH PICC-18"

If these options are not available, make sure you are
using the latest version of MPLAB.

For each of the three entries in the "Tool Name",
specify the path to compiler in the "Executable" box:

For PICC (which is typically installed in C:\HT-PIC),
PICC Compiler: C:\HT-PIC\BIN\PICC.EXE
PICC Assembler: C:\HT-PIC\BIN\PICC.EXE
PICC Linker: C:\HT-PIC\BIN\PICC.EXE

For PICC Lite (which is typically installed in C:\PICCLITE),
PICC Lite Compiler: C:\PICCLITE\BIN\PICL.EXE
PICC Lite Assembler: C:\PICCLITE\BIN\PICL.EXE
PICC Lite Linker: C:\PICCLITE\BIN\PICL.EXE

For PICC-18 (which is typically install in C:\HT-PIC18),
PICC-18 Compiler: C:\HTSOFT\PIC18\BIN\PICC18.EXE
PICC-18 Assembler: C:\HTSOFT\PIC18\BIN\PICC18.EXE
PICC-18 Linker: C:\HTSOFT\PIC18\BIN\PICC18.EXE

PICC.EXE, PICL.EXE and PICC18.EXE are the only front-end to
the compiler/assembler/linker and it automatically
runs the appropriate utility which it determines
from the filename extension. Thus you do not need
to call the assembler and linker executables directly.
Set all three (compiler, assembler and linker) to be
either PICC.EXE, PICL.EXE or PICC18.EXE as shown above.

In the sections which says "Command line" or "Windowed" always
choose "Command line".
