Job Code: CA2767, Firmware Applicatios Engineer. BSEE and 5+ years related exp. Must be familiar with Programming in C/C++, Programming in Win9x/NT/XP environments, PC GUI development in Visual BASIC or similar platform And familiarity with logic analyzers and scopes/probes for control bus debug required. Thorough knowledge of microcontrollers (preferably Cygnal/Atmel), experience with statistical analysis tools (i.e. Mathlab and Statistica)and Strong mathematical and statistics skills required. Experience in an Optical Module (XFP, SFP) firmware development role preferred. Will work to develop software algorithms for a microcontroller environment to allow Smart-Link family Transceivers and Transimpedance Amplifiers (and similar products) to interoperate as a system, self-adjusting to compensate for optical dispersion based on feedback from the system environment. Responsibilities will include initial implementation, extension of these algorithms to future members of the device family, and ongoing customer support as customers adapt to these algorithms into their own system environments. Other projects will include developing control loop firmware for laser drivers as well as XFP and SFP module firmware for reference design work. This position will report in to Marketing/Applications and work very closely with the IC Design groups responsible for product development
